Can we be self sufficient in apples in the Highland and Islands? Crazy idea?

Well….

There's a lot going on with orchards in the Highlands and Islands including many established orchards and new orchards being planted.

The Highlands and Islands Orchard Network was formed to bring together folks who are passionate about working together to share knowledge and build the excitement about orchards

We meet about once every month and are working out how best to move forward, with talks, education, information sharing, funding for orchards etc.

At this formative stage, we welcome membership from anyone who has orchard knowledge who wants to build a team to increase our overall impact and success in growing fruit - and enjoying eating and drinking the produce, as well as the bio-diversity and other benefits.
